I also think using bootcamp 4.0 drivers will also be fine. So now I will just stick with the graphic drivers coming with the bootcamp 3.1. I did a system restore back to the point where the nvidia driver is not installed and the sd card reader will be back again.
And this time I know exactly what casued the problem. Then I installed Nvidia Driver 285.62.(the newer drivers up to 301.24 all have various kinds of bugs) The installation is smooth and after the installation speedfan start working just fine and read the GPU temperature correctly.Īfter rebooting I noticed the sd card reader is totoally gone as before.

So I thought may be I should update the Nvidia driver because mine have a geforece 320m onboard. Everytime I tried to use it, it will cause BSOD and I noticed that right before the computer crashes the speedfan was looking for the temperature of the GPU. There was a problem with speedfan though. Anyway everything is working fine without the updater.

I guess when I install Lion it updated the firmware to version 4.0. I tried to upgrade bootcamp 3.1 to 3.3 using the downloads from apple website but the updater will not start saying that I already have bootcamp 4.0 installed. The card reader was just working fine so far. I updated windwos 7 to the latest updates. I did a clean reinstallation of windows 7 and the bootcamp 3.1 drivers from my snow lepoard disc. And the cause is not bootcamp 4.0 but Nvidia Graphic Card driver. Ok, I think I might find the solution to mine. Sympathy to all you guys that are having the same problem. I have a mid 2010 13inch macbook pro with Lion and windows 7 dual boot. Probably I have to do a system reinstall. That is, until yesterday when out of the blue the card reader is not working. I am an amateur photographer and on a daily basis I am downloading photos from my camera via the memory cards directly into the computer. Otherwise older versions of bootcamp will not install. The thing is that you can not just uninstall bootcamp 4.0 from control panel and call it a day you have to uninstall everything that apple related and delete the drivers and registries manually. But apple definitely make it diffcult like a **** to unistall the drivers and downgrade to bootcamp 3.3. I am kind of suspecting boot camp 4.0 driver caused this problem. I have to reset the nvram or boot into windows 7 safemode to have my macbook pro recognize the card reader again. When this happens even booting back into Lion will not fix the issue. The card reader just completely vanished from my Window 7 system.Ｉ can not see it in the device manager nor can I see the sd card inserted when I go to cmd and use “diskpart list disk". I am having the same issue, but mine is even worse.
